MV Agusta: A Brief History Of The Motorcycle Brand.
There are many great motorcycle companies on the market. Many of them strive to produce the fastest bikes, the most stylish, and sometimes, simply the biggest two-wheeled beasts on the road. However, there is one company, perhaps at least one, that focuses on all of that and truly designs pieces of motorcycle art.
MV Agusta has been around since 1945 and the company is based in Varese, Italy. The company was founded by Count Domenico Agusta. The MV in the company’s name stands for Meccanica Verghera, which is where the very first of the MV Agustas were manufactured.

The legendary MV Agusta is one of the few motorcycle marques that combined Grand Prix racing success and with an exotic line of road motorcycles. Over the years, MV Agusta has been crafting and building machines that are a step ahead, and stir emotions by looking into the future.
What Make MV Agusta Bikes Great
One of the things that makes MV Agusta stand out from the rest is its process. They craft each bike by hand as well as with the use of advanced technologies. This means the products are not only ensured to be constructed with quality and care, but they also have a personal touch. People who buy these bikes can feel almost like it was designed for them. This goes along with their dedication to excellence and being the best maker of two-wheeled machines.

The other thing that makes M/V Agusta stand out is their desire for their bikes to be pieces of art. This is much like what Pagani does for cars. When you see an MV Agusta, you truly see what they mean. Of course, their bikes look like normal bikes, but they each have a bit of something else. They stand out, it’s like they are somehow enhanced over a regular motorcycle.
Their Beginnings And Eventual Decline
The company started focusing on motorcycles after the Second World War. They previously worked with aircraft, but motorcycles allowed them to continue to use their engineering and design expertise.
Their first motorcycle, MV 98 was released to the public in October 1945. The company wanted to name their first ride Vespa 98, however that name was already registered. Of course, we are all familiar with the Vespa scooters. The MV 98 could be purchased in either touring or economical versions. The engine was a 98 cc two-stroke single cylinder.
